The Chiltern Hills by Les Ham

A new book of walks in the Chilterns is a step nearer to being published. The walks will be circular of 7 - 10 miles distance and include detailed walks description, local history notes, maps and photos together with other useful general information. Individual walks from the book will be able to be purchased and sent to you as an email.

I have now sent all the necessary files to the publisher. The publishers are based in the USA. It is now over to the publishers for the next stage of the process. I have no idea at this point how long the publisher will need to produce a draft copy of the book. I then have to check through the book in detail before signing it off. Should there be any problems then part of the above will need to be re-visited.

The whole process of completing a historical walking guidebook takes at least 3 years (this one has taken 4 years) to complete taking into account the walking, route describing, history research, photography, map producing, compiling, checking and publishing lead time but the project is probably on time for spring of 2012.
